Intro
As Motion Graphics Specialist for Alerte Universal Limited, I developed and delivered a full suite of explainer and animated videos to onboard users, showcase powerful features, and support the app’s launch. The goal was to simplify critical emergency actions – like sending alerts, sharing location, and contacting responders – into clear, memorable visual experiences rooted in real-life scenarios. Using AI image and video generation, Photoshop and Affinity for masking and compositing, and CapCut video editing, I brought these stories to life through narratives including a Lagos ‘danfo’ bus accident, a robbery, and a fire emergency.
Project Overview
Alerte is a personal safety application designed to connect users with trusted contacts and emergency responders in real time using a simple swipe. With features like instant SOS alerts, live location sharing, and intelligent risk detection, the platform addresses the urgent need for faster emergency response in high-risk environments. My job was to make the complex features feel instinctive and relatable, even under panic.

The Challenge
Emergency situations are unpredictable, and users often panic under pressure and forget how to use the app, or even which emergency numbers to dial. Alerte needed videos that not only explained complex features but also built emotional trust, ensuring users could understand and remember how to act when it mattered most.
The context: Busy city emergency scenarios (road accidents, armed robbery, fire outbreaks, night breakdowns).
The constraint: no live footage, only AI and screen recordings. And the bar was high – these videos would launch the app.

Design and Execution – Key Insight
Users rarely remember emergency instructions under pressure. The communication approach moved beyond instruction toward relatable scenarios. Familiar Lagos scenarios and tension-driven storytelling were used to improve clarity, urgency, and behavioral recall, thereby helping the app feel more immediate, believable, and easier to use under pressure.

Production Reality – 100+ Generations, 40+ Clips, One Week
The flagship animation alone took over a week. I began with concept ideation, generating over 100 reference images and 40+ video clips using AI, directing character design, animation style, and background integration, before moving to detailed compositing in Photoshop and Affinity. Every lip-sync, sound effect, transition, and voiceover was carefully timed and sequenced in CapCut. The production process combined direction, editing, sound design, and AI-assisted animation.

Additional Deliverables – The Full Suite
Alongside the flagship animations, I delivered a full supporting suite:
A looping phone screen animation video used as a launch day backdrop (plays on loop during presentations).
A full explainer suite: a user explainer (registration, emergency alerts, location sharing, and Owei AI broken into step-by-step visual flows), an Agent Portal walkthrough (for emergency responders), and an Agency Portal walkthrough (for managing response teams).
A second AI narrative (siblings stranded in bushes on a rainy night, rescued via satellite-triggered drones)
A first AI narrative (a woman in a cab who is in a crash and reunites with her family)
Each asset was optimized for social media, advertising campaigns, and the Alerte website, ensuring consistency across user, agent, and organizational touchpoints.

Outcome
The final video suite successfully simplified Alerte's advanced safety features into high-retention narratives, making the app easier to understand and adopt. Deployed across social media (LinkedIn and Instagram), onboarding flows, and ad campaigns, the animations drove stronger users' comprehension and significantly increased platform visibility. The work strengthened user trust – helping Alerte feel both accessible and credible in the moments that matter most.
